“Rosie G. Thompson’s mixed media installations define those places where ordinary and non-ordinary reality intersect, and map the places where, through the experiences of human beings, the two realms bleed into each other….The art works envelope us in the mundane, even the brutal, then transport us to a transcendent realm where the familiar becomes sacred. The journey shocks and uplifts, and finally becomes familiar, as familiar as the rhythm of our own hearts echoing the beat of a primal drum.“
